Tank Freezing | News | World of Tanks

On March 15th we’ll add a new feature – the so called ‘Tank Freezing’ – to the Clan Wars game mode. Essentially it renders the tanks that get destroyed during a Clan War fight unavailable for a short period of time. Those ‘locked out’ tanks won’t be available for use in Clan Wars during their timeout, but will remain usable in all other types of battles.

The duration of the suspension depends on the vehicle’s tier: the higher the tier that the vehicle belongs to, the longer it’s suspension will last. Vehicles of Tier 1 will not get locked out at all. Furthermore there’ll also be no lockout in the starting tournaments at landing, regardless of tier or combat result. In addition to that, previously suspended vehicles also will be able to participate in these tournaments as well. However this exception does not apply in final battles with the province owner, where the lockout feature will come into effect again.

This chart shows you how long (in hours) the tanks get locked out depending on their tier:

In order to implement this new feature we’ll have to induce a short maintenance of 10-20 minutes. Please prepare accordingly for a short server shutdown that’ll take place March 15th at 10:00 CET.

7.2 Preview: Crew Skills

 

Tankees,

With the 7.2 version, we are planning to release an extensive update to the Crew Skills system in World of Tanks. The update will provide a plethora of new customization options for your crews. A gunner will improve over time and a driver will have an access to unique skills to better perform his duties etc.

Although the 7.2. version is still in a development process we would like to share this news now in order to receive your feedback.

New Skills

Important! All crew skill names are subject to change and might differ in the game client once the 7.2 update is released.

22 new additions are currently scheduled for version 7.2. They will be broken down into two types: skills and perks.

  • Skills – These are in effect immediately upon the start of training. They improve in effectiveness as you increase the percentage of training in the skill.
  • Perks – These are activated once you have reached 100% training.

When will the damage and the penetration of HE shells be adjusted?

 

  • In the 7.2 update, several of armour groups will be absorbing around 20% less damage caused by HE.

 

What exactly will change in battle maps, when the new game physics will be introduced?

 

  • The new game physics will allow vehicles to move in a completely new way. All maps will be reworked which will give a tank the freedom to realistically move anywhere without getting stuck.
